POST CARE GUIDELINES

IT IS IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW POST CARE GUIDELINES AFTER A SERVICE
AS TO HELP PREVENT ANY UNNECESSARY IRRITATION

BROW + FACE THREADING/WAXING/SUGARING

•  Please do not touch your face unless your hands are clean. This is generally advised but it is especially important after hair removal services, as to not introduce bacteria onto freshly exfoliated skin.
•  Use a clean pillow case tonight. White silk or silver infused is ideal for skin and hair health. Wash your pillow case at least once a week. If you are acne or breakout prone, change your pillow case every day; or every other day, flipping the pillow on the second day of use. Wash your sheets at least once a week.
[Silver Infused Pillow Cases are best for Acne Prone skin. Silvon is my preferred brand - www.silvonhome.com - Silvon also carries other helpful products such as sheet sets, duvet covers, bath towels, face towels, hand towels and cloth face masks.]
[Silk Pillow Cases are best for Anti Aging practices and hair health. Slip is my preferred brand - www.slip.com - Slip also carries other products such as hair wraps, sleep masks, and silk face masks.]
•  Wear a silk hair wrap at night if you haven't washed your hair that night. Environmental debris and hair care products can lead to skin irritation and breakouts. Wash your hair wrap as often as you wash your hair.
•  Do not wear foundation or concealer for the next 24 hours. If you must wear makeup the same day, please use a loose mineral foundation, such as Bare Minerals or Susan Posnick, and ensure it is applied with a clean brush. Wash your makeup brushes at least once a week, ideally every time you use them.
•  Stay out of the sun for the rest of the day. Generally, when in the sun, please wear a sunhat, as well as a mineral SPF, and apply as often as directed.
•  Do your normal skincare routine day of, but do not add any additional steps, such as a face mask, or an exfoliant. If you are prone to breakouts or ingrown hairs, you may want to use either a salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide/glycolic acid wash nightly, or an exfoliating peel pad a few times a week in the affected areas, just not on the day of hair removal.
•  If you waxed or sugared, do not get any facial services done for at least 48 hours. If you threaded, there is no need to wait.
•  Please do not tweeze your brows at home, as this can alter the shape, as well as your hair growth cycle, which may have an unwanted effect next time you are in for a service.
•  If you waxed or sugared and had any type of negative reaction, such as tearing, hives, rash, or redness for more than an hour, please inform me the next time you are in for a service, and we will switch to threading.
•  If the next time you are in for a brow shaping you are taking any topical or oral medications for skin health, antibiotics, or have recently had more sun exposure than usual, please inform me at the time of your service and we will stick with threading as opposed to waxing or sugaring for your skin’s overall safety and comfort.
•  For your best results, maintenance, and comfort, we look forward to seeing you again in 3-5 weeks!

BROW LAMINATION + LASH LIFT

•  Please avoid any extreme heat, such as saunas, hot tubs, hot showers, baths, and sunbeds for the next 24 hours. For the time being, please stick to warm, lukewarm, cool, or cold water when bathing or washing your face.
•  Please avoid working up a sweat for the next 24 hours.
•  Use only oil free products, avoid exfoliating, and avoid pressure or friction in the area for 24 hours after your service.
•  Do not wear makeup on your brows, or curl or wear mascara on your lashes for the first 24 hours.
•  If you must brush your lashes or brows, ensure to only brush them up.
•  Please sleep on your back the first night after Lash Lift and Brow Lamination.
•  For your best results, maintenance, and comfort, we look forward to seeing you again in 6-12 weeks!

BODY WAXING OR SUGARING

•  Please avoid any excessively hot showers, baths, or go in a hot tub for the next 24 hours. For the time being, please stick to warm, lukewarm, cool, or cold water when bathing.
•  Avoid any excessive pressure or friction on the areas of hair removal for the next 24 hours.
•  Please avoid exercise that will exert sweat or cause friction (biking is a good example), as well as water activities for the next 24 hours. The dampness and friction of exercise or a bathing suit can lead to irritation and ingrown hairs. Laying around in a wet bathing suit or damp workout clothes can lead to yeast or fungal infections.
•  Please wear loose fitting underwear for the first 24 hours after hair removal in that region.
•  Avoid exfoliating the area of hair removal 24 hours before and after your service.
•  If you are prone to breakouts or ingrown hairs, please use either a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide wash, or an exfoliating peel pad a few times a week in the areas of hair removal. Do not use all on the same day, but you may alternate treatments.
•  Please do not shave the area, as this will throw off your growth cycle for the next time you are in.
•  For your best results, maintenance, and comfort, we look forward to seeing you again in 4-6 weeks!

BROW TINTING

•  Brow tinting will be darkest for the first 24 - 48 hours, and will fade to the true color after a face wash or two.
•  Brow Tinting typically lasts about 2-6 weeks, depending on a variety of factors such as skin type, hair type, skincare, lifestyle, and sun exposure.
•  For your best results and maintenance, it is advised to get your brows tinted every 3-6 weeks.

LASH TINTING

•  Slight irritation and possible redness are common after lash tinting. You are welcome to use a saline solution or eye drops to continue to flush out the eyes, or eye drops specifically for redness if you so choose.
•  The tint is a vegetable based dye, so although it may be irritating if it gets in the eyes, it shouldn’t cause any long term damage. It feels a bit like when an eyelash gets in your eye. Irritating, but can easily be resolved.
•  If redness or irritation persist for more than an hour, please inform me either via text at 503.395.4639 or email at skyler@auberginepdx.com as this may indicate an allergic reaction, and it may be wise to discontinue tinting services in the future.
•  Eyelash tinting typically last about 4-8 weeks. The black will never truly fade out, but it will fade to a less intense black. Also, as your lashes grow, you will start to see the line of demarcation between what has been tinted, and your natural color. Last but not lease, as your lashes cycle through - you lose and regrow about a third of your hair every month - the new hairs will be your natural color, rather than black.
•  For your best results and maintenance, it is advised to get your lashes tinted every 4-8 weeks.

FACIALS

•  Please stay hydrated! This is always important but is especially pertinent after a facial. General guideline, determine your body weight in lbs, divide that number in half, and drink that many oz of water daily. (Example: 100lbs ÷ 2 = 50oz of Water Daily). Add an additional oz of water for every oz of caffeine and alcohol consumed that day.
•  Please do not touch your face unless your hands are clean. This is generally advised but it is especially important after facial services, as to not introduce bacteria onto freshly exfoliated skin.
•  Use a clean pillow case tonight. Wash your pillow case at least once a week. If you are acne or breakout prone, change your pillow case every day, or every other day, flipping the pillow on the second day of use.

We will try to narrow down what product caused your reaction so that it can be avoided in future services.
•  Please follow the advised skincare routine discussed during your service and consult with your Esthetician to see when you should be in for your next facial.
